Hi, my name is Lauren, I’m a fully qualified person-centred counsellor registered with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy.
I realise that people seek counselling for a multitude of reasons. Whether issues in your personal or professional life have become too much or if you need to regain a lost part of yourself, by respecting your individual nature and situation I am able to offer a non- judgemental and empathic environment which can help to enable you in sharing and exploring any problems you may be experiencing and potential ways forward. Counselling offers you the opportunity to consider issues that are impacting your life in a safe and confidential space. The counselling relationship is a unique one, being truly heard by another can be transformative, offering the chance for you to develop a deeper understanding of yourself which in turn can empower you and assist in overcoming problems. Working within an NHS environment, I have experience of working with individuals presenting with a wide range of issues, I also have particular experience working with survivors of sexual violence and domestic abuse. I offer short and long-term counselling and will tailor my approach to suit your individual needs. I am based in North Somercotes and Cleethorpes. |
What is Counselling and What can Counselling do for you ?Person Centred Counselling is a non-directive approach; allowing you time and space to work on whatever issues you want to bring to the session to talk about and explore your feelings around. Using the core conditions, Empathy, Unconditional Positive Regard (UPR) and Congruence can enable you to achieve your basic and mental health needs. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) is still a talking therapy which can help you look at what is troubling you. It focuses more directly on thoughts, beliefs, attitudes and behaviour. CBT works to help you with some coping mechanisms to help you meet your needs and we can teach coping skills for dealing with different problems. |
